A series of audits by the Fair Work Ombudsman found 20% of businesses were failing to correctly pay their workers. Exploitation has increased as jobs are being lost to the overseas workforce.The textile, clothing and footwear union has teamed up with not-for-profit organisation, Ethical Clothing Australia, to police the industry and provide consumers with peace of mind and greater choice. The voluntary accreditation program charts a business's supply chain to protect the rights of Australian factory and home-based workers.
