The Florida Bonneted Bat is a critically endangered native Florida species of bat that is only found in a handful of places in South Florida, and one of the largest populations live in the Pine Rockland habitat directly adjacent to Zoo Miami. Currently, developers are pushing to put a water park in a vital space next to this important habitat, and if plans go through this will have profound effects on the bats and other wildlife who depend on this habitat to thrive.
