Bert's Better Beers' Draft Pick(s) of the Week:

Granite Stout

THE BEER:

Granite Stout is our American stout with strong coffee and chocolate notes balanced by a clean bitterness.  Take your time with this medium bodied 8% abv stout. An understated hopping and chocolate like sweetness present firstly, and as the beer warms, coffee, vanilla and cocoa notes bloom. IBU: 34

THE STORY:

Granite Stout is truly the people’s choice. In January of 2014, the brewery conducted the “Stout Challenge”, where for a month all visitors into the brewery sampled a selection of small batch stouts brewed in house.  The winning recipes continued on and faced each other in the final round. After hundreds of votes were tallied the winning recipe became Granite Stout which is now available in 22 oz. bottles and on draft throughout New Hampshire.

THE 603:

New Hampshire is known for its large granite formations located throughout the state, the most famous being the “Old Man on the Mountain”
