\\nEveryone who believes [with a deep, abiding trust in the fact] that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) is born of God [that is, reborn from above\\u2014spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], and everyone who loves the Father also loves\\xa0[a]the\\xa0child\\xa0born of Him.\\xa02\\xa0By this we know [without any doubt] that we love the children of God: [expressing that love] when we love God and obey His commandments.\\xa0

3\\xa0For the [true] love of God is this: that we\\xa0habitually\\xa0keep His commandments\\xa0and\\xa0remain focused on His precepts. And His commandments\\xa0and\\xa0His precepts are not difficult [to obey].\\xa04\\xa0For\\xa0[b]everyone born of God is victorious\\xa0and\\xa0overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered\\xa0and\\xa0overcome the world\\u2014our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].
