1 John 5:1-4;

\nEveryone who believes [with a deep, abiding trust in the fact] that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) is born of God [that is, reborn from above\u2014spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], and everyone who loves the Father also loves\xa0[a]the\xa0child\xa0born of Him.\xa02\xa0By this we know [without any doubt] that we love the children of God: [expressing that love] when we love God and obey His commandments.\xa0

3\xa0For the [true] love of God is this: that we\xa0habitually\xa0keep His commandments\xa0and\xa0remain focused on His precepts. And His commandments\xa0and\xa0His precepts are not difficult [to obey].\xa04\xa0For\xa0[b]everyone born of God is victorious\xa0and\xa0overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered\xa0and\xa0overcome the world\u2014our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].
