On the One

Lord knows how much I love the funk. I've been grooving to the funk ever since I was knee high to a chicken and on this broadcast of The Soul Brother Show, I wanted to honor that which I love and appreciate so dearly. I took it all the way back to the man who is the foundation of funk: James Brown. The Godfather of Soul is responsible for introducing funk music to the masses with his legendary cut "Cold Sweat" and for dropping it on the one. What is The One you ask? It's the source of that which makes funk funky. We drop some classics from the Godfather and his proteges and then we incorporate some hip-hop classics that sample Mr. Brown because again, he is the foundation of it all. Enjoy.
