A Conversation with Patra

Published: Oct. 5, 2014, 11:17 p.m.

On this 50th podcast of The Soul Brother Show - The Home of Heavy Soul and Raw Funk, we talk to dancehall legend Patra, a-k-a the Queen of the Pack! Back in the day when I used to spin of KSJL-96.1 FM and KSYM-90.1 FM in San Antonio, it was Patra's hits such as "Romantic Call," "Worker Man," and her rendition of the Grace Jones classic "Pull Up to the Bumper" that got mad spins on the turntables. Before Rihanna titillated the masses with her island vibe, it was Patra with her sensual vocals and Jamaican rhythms that captivated your attention. The Queen, who is my first international guest, speaks to Mr. Chris about her career, future endeavors, and even her infamous "Patra Braids!" As always, sit back, relax, and enjoy!
