I spent 15 years playing the cello and piano through high school but it wasn't until I graduated college that I discovered electronic music. My earliest memorable club experience was in Chicago going to see Basement Jaxx spin. It was many years ago and the details are a bit of a blur but I remember dancing all night and more importantly, that was the night I fell in love with dance music. I clubbed and danced through the next 6 years in Chicago and Dallas, keeping up with DJ's and new CD mixes (remember that thing called Napster??). In 2002, I moved to San Francisco and it is here that I discovered the art and joy of DJ'ing. This month I celebrate my 11th year of DJ'ing and I can't think of anything else that has so deeply helped shape my community of friends, creativity and fun!
