Voter suppression has been on the rise throughout the country for years, but there are other ways to keep the nation's working poor from the ballot box. The daily grind of surviving poverty itself can shut potential voters from participating in elections. In Georgia, activists were forced to confront this reality while canvassing for the 2020 elections\u2014and still managed to flip the state and achieve record voter turnout.
