We all know that one person who seems to operate on another level. Let’s say this person is a mom to two kids, owns a small business in town, volunteers at her kids’ school, and just published her own new cookbook. Or perhaps this person is a father, husband, and real estate investor, who hosts a podcasts, manages 30 rental properties, and attends at least one networking event every week. How do these people find the time to maintain such a busy schedule? After all, they have the same 24 hours in a day as the rest of us. We often confuse being busy with being productive. Being busy simply means you are filling the hours of your day with things. Being productive, means you are accomplishing the important things you need to. These two things can sometime be hard to distinguish. In order to do so, you must first audit your time. Ask yourself, “Is what I am doing today, or tomorrow, or this week putting me closer to my goals? More important, are these things fulfilling me and bringing me happiness?”. If the answer is yes, then do more of those things. If the answer is no, then find a way to cut those things out of your life as much as possible. Sure, we would all like to cut filing taxes out of our life, but unfortunately that isn’t practical. So, are you living a busy life or a productive one?
