Lacey Kaelani is the cofounder of Metaintro and is a 2x startup founder in the HR tech space. Metaintro is the professional resume wallet for web3. The multi-chain custodial wallet holds proof-of-employment, proof-of-skill, and proof-of-education, replacing the PDF resume. Adjacent to the project, Metaintro is also the largest Discord community dedicated to web3 jobs. wherewithalMetaintro is backed by NEAR Blockchain, Aave, and web3 investors, having just raised $5.6M. It's the largest seed round led by a female founder in the web3 HR tech space. Having built Metaintro, Lacey has helped thousands of people make the professional career transition into web3. This Episode’s Heavy-hitter’s: Lacey picked up much of her entrepreneurial wherewithal from her mother, who worked in real estate. “She’s the type of person that always has a new idea for a business” and in 2008 during the market crash, instead of crumbling, she was trying to think of the top 5 businesses that would generate money and cover her losses. When Lacey fell short of being able to raise more money to keep building her first company Casting Depot, she was so distraught about the failure that she couldn’t get out of bed for a month. Finally she mustered the strength to create an exit strategy and was able to pull it off. The idea for Metaintro came along when she was closing the Casting Depot deal, after reading an essay on Web3 by Matthew Ball. From there, she started to do further research and thought about how Web3 technology could have solved problems in casting and at her former company. Metaintro’s resume wallet is the Web3 evolution from a regular PDF resume. Applicants would be able to connect their wallet similarly to how they upload a PDF to an application, instead with all the verification and versatility of blockchain technology. Although Metaintro runs one of the most popular Web3 Job Board Discords out, Lacey does not monetize it.
