And no, that's not racist. \n\n(First in a random series of "Meet the Co-Hosts.")\n\nThe Drink du Jour:\n\nSingapore Sling\n\n1 1/2 ounces gin\n1 ounce lemon juice\n1/4 ounce simple syrup\n1 1/2 teaspoon powdered sugar\n2 ounces club soda\n1/2 ounce cherry brandy, kirsch, or Cherry Heering\nLemon slice for garnish\nMaraschino cherry for garnish\n\nPour the gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and powdered sugar into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into a highball glass with ice cubes. Pour in the club soda. Float the cherry brandy on top by pouring it over the back of a bar spoon.
