Houston is ready for this hurricane
We’re on fumes (but don’t complain)
Get knocked down but up again
2020’s been a joke
California up in smoke
Windy up in Iowa
DC is diarrhea
We been watching CNN
Laughing at the hypocrites
Who say that we’re all dyin’
(but we ain’t died yet)
Now over in the Gulf there’s a pair of hurricanes
And the weatherman says they gonna get you
We partied after Harvey
Instead of worrying.
It’s alarming how we brushed it off and shrugged it off like, no big thing.
We batten up the hatches, go to Specs
Get some brews
Write our names on our wrists with a Sharpie pen
And laugh and then we
Hunker down hunker down
Fire up the generators
‘Nother Round ‘nother round
(This is how we meet our neighbors)
Chainsaw the downed pines
Boiled city water’s fine!
Kids are outta school, but it’s cool, cuz
They’re cool with Zoom (cuzza covid) they’re all over it, they’re above it!
