Morning Update: Calls For Jes Staley To Step Down Accelerate As Edward Bramson Intensifies His Criticism Of Staley
Jes Staley is under fire.
Activist investor Edward Bramson has begun a full court press in the boardroom and in the press to accelerate the ouster of the embattled Staley.
Staley is facing not only an external investigation into his relationship, professionally and otherwise with Epstein but he is also facing a firestorm from the biggest investor in Barclays.
Sherborne investment group, headed by Bramson has been attacking Staley from the inside for well over a year now and reports are starting to trickle out that the offensive is starting to bear fruit as other board members are said to privately agree with Bramson.
Staley is scheduled to depart from his position in 2021.
