We go all the way back to 2008 in tonight's episode with an article by the New York Times.

The author of the article, Landon Thomas wrote a profile on Epstein in 2008 just before his jail sentence and the article reads as if Epstein was wrongly accused and that he is just a misunderstood genius.

The Author of the article ended up leaving the Times after it was revealed he accepted 30k dollars from Epstein leaving little doubt that the article was nothing more than a softball for Epstein to begin to attempt the reformation of his image even before spending one second in jail.
