LEGENDS: The Commissioned!
Possibly the greatest boy band ever, only second to The Winans.. the Commissioned put the 1980's on the map and reinvented and inspired young men to get together in the school bathrooms, hallways and street corners to experiment on some harmonies like the old Doo Wops use to do in the 1950's. Even the famed group Boyz To Men said that they got their inspiration from the Commissioned. Some of the greatest musicians studied from these boys and one of Chicago's brightest is Pastor Maxx Frank who joined forces with them on the "Number 7" album.. hopefully he will be calling in. My nephew Lawrence C Jones frequently tours with Fred Hammond, hopefully he will also call.
My brother Larry Jones and I use to hear my Father complain about how those "Commissioners" made him sick and they sounded like little girls LOL! It got so bad in the house that we had to literally sneak and listen to our cassette tapes when pops was home as to not offend him.
So what's YOUR favorite album and song from them? I have 4 favorites actually.... "Ordinary Just Won't Do", "When Love Calls You Home", "Find Myself in You and "More Than I".
