FORGOTTEN GEMS: Eartha Kitt, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Lena Horne, Dinah Washington, Josephine Baker, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Ethel Waters, Nancy Wilson!

Today we go back in time... waaaay back! For you young folks looking for Beyonce, sorry, step away from the computer, there's nothing to see here. Today on The Sir Walter Jones Show we cater to the Jazz lovers out there, the wonderful nerds like myself... today is "Grown-folks" Music and some of you probably need to go to bed right now. These women were known for singing what was called "Torch Songs"... A torch song is a sentimental love song, typically one in which the singer laments an unrequited or lost love, either where one party is oblivious to the existence of the other, where one party has moved on, or where a romantic affair has affected the relationship.. You know? Like todays music LOL!
