Jon has made it to Castle Black, and he's not exactly loving life. He's the best fighter of the recruit class but he has no friends and really just wants to pack it in and leave. To top it all off, he's made a dangerous enemy. We look at why he's having such a tough time adjusting, why his uncle Benjen isn't any help, and the impact of this new-found enemy on his life. We also make an exciting announcement about the pod!

Chapter Review
Jon has begun his sentence, er... service in the Night's Watch. So far things have not gone smoothly. He's made nothing but enemies at every turn. He's isolated himself from the rest of the recruits, who he beats mercilessly when fighting in the yard. It comes to a head one night in the armory when a group of four recruits gang up on him. The melee ends quickly when the smith Donal Noye breaks it up. He tells Jon that he's been bullying the other boys. Later, Jon gets word that Bran has woken. With his mood lifted by the good news, he reaches out to some of the recruits. But, when he makes a joke at Alliser Thorne's expense, he makes an enemy with a lot of power over his life.
