Chapter Review:
Despite being the son of Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell, Jon Snow finds himself relegated to a table well out of sight of royal eyes at the welcoming feast for the royal family. Jon watches the precession of lords and ladies that include the rest of his family. He gets his first glimpse of the legendary King Robert Baratheon, Demon of the Trident, who turns out to be a disappointment. He is impressed with Ser Jamie Lannister, the twin brother to Queen Cersei. Alongside Jamie in the procession is Jamie’s younger brother Tyrion Lannister, the dwarf known as “the imp.” During the feast, Jon’s uncle Benjen Stark stop by to see him. Jon asks Benjen to take him back to Castle Black when Benjen returns, so Jon can join the Night’s Watch. His uncle suggests he tastes more than 14 years of life before making that decision, as there is no going back. Jon gets upset and storms out of the hall. Outside, he meets Tyrion, who gives him some advice about being different from one’s family.
