Brian sits down with Ryan Heckman, CEO of Eyeconic Vision Partners, and discusses the challenges of building culture within an organization while running the business at the same time.
Ryan has nearly 20 years of private equity investing experience. In 2014 Ryan wanted to transition from managing capital to leading people and took over Icon Eyecare in Denver, CO. Soon after, he formed Eyeconic Vision Partners and aquired Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center in Texas and Hiatt Eye Center in Arizona. Originally starting with 16 employees, EVP now has more than 400 employees and performs more than 32,000 surgeries per year.
Ryan grew up in rural Colorado, where he was a member of the 1992 and 1994 U.S. Olympic Teams. Active in his community, Ryan is a co-founder of the Colorado Impact Fund, executive director of Quarterly Forum, and serves on the investment committee for the Colorado Health Foundation.
