The outsized impact of Dr. Martin Luther King
On August 28, 1963, an estimated 250,000 people took part in the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. After the march, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood in front of the Lincoln Memorial where he delivered his iconic "I Have a Dream" speech calling for an end to racial discrimination.
