The Sinaloa Cartel And Industrial Fentanyl Production In Colombia (4/5/23)

Published: April 5, 2023, 4:02 p.m.

The Sinaloa Cartel, a Mexican drug trafficking organization, has been linked to the production of industrial quantities of fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid. Fentanyl is often mixed with other drugs like heroin or cocaine, increasing their potency and profitability. The cartel is believed to have established large-scale fentanyl production labs in Mexico, with the raw materials imported from China. The finished product is smuggled into the United States, where it has contributed to the ongoing opioid crisis.

In this episode, we see how their operation is evoloving and how they are moving a portion of the production of synthetic drugs to Colombia in hopes to avoid authorities in Mexico.
