The Royal Canadian Mounted Police And The Investigation Into The OceanGate Disaster (6/30/23)
The Royal Mounted Canadian Police have announced that they are in the prelim stages of a possible criminal investigation into what happened during the doomed voyage of the Titan submersible. While the authorities haven't decided if they will establish a criminal case, they are certainly exploring the circumstances that led to the disaster to see what they might uncover.
The U.S. Coast guard has also announced it's own investigation, though they have not signaled one way or the other about criminal charges.
The ROV's are still working at the site collecting more data and the investigation, while growing, is still in its infancy.
