Target's profit plummeted 90% in the second quarter as consumers pull their money back from discretionary spending and instead focusing it on staples such as food and bills. As gas continues to drop in price, food and other necessities continue to rise, stomping out whatever relief Americans might get from the decline in fuel prices and prolonging the misery in the pocketbook.
