Stolen Valor And Ukraine...The James Vazquez Story (4/25/23)

Published: April 25, 2023, 7 p.m.

Stolen valor refers to the act of falsely claiming to have received military honors or awards, or falsely claiming to have served in the military, in order to obtain benefits or recognition that one is not entitled to. This practice is considered a form of fraud and is illegal in many countries, including the United States. It is often viewed as a disrespectful and dishonorable act towards those who have genuinely served in the military and have earned their honors and awards through their sacrifice and service. Penalties for stolen valor can include fines, imprisonment, or both.

Mr. Vazquez has been accused of all of this and more, including the misappropriation of funds that were donated towards the war efforts in Ukraine.
