b'Madalina Cojocari, a 13-year-old girl, has been missing since November 21, 2022, when she was last seen getting off her school bus in Cornelius, North Carolina. Her disappearance was not reported until December 15, 2022, by her mother, Diana Cojocari, after school officials inquired about her extended absence.

Recently, Diana Cojocari pleaded guilty to failing to report her daughter\'s disappearance. She served 17 months in jail and is now expected to be deported due to her immigration status. Despite the conviction, the whereabouts of Madalina remain unknown.

Madalina\'s stepfather, Christopher Palmiter, is currently on trial for the same charge of failing to report a missing child. During the trial, it was revealed that Palmiter provided various unsubstantiated explanations for Madalina\'s absence, including that she might be at a friend\'s house or that she had been kidnapped.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities continuing to search for any leads that might shed light on what happened to Madalina Cojocari\\u200b.
