In 1992 Jeffrey Epstein rented a townhouse from the State Department and then, in turn, subleased it to a lawyer named Ivan Fisher. The government then alleged that nobody paid rent on the townhouse and court proceedings began. It eventually led to both men being given the boot from the property.
