'BradCast' 9/26/2022 (American Majority Wants to Expand High Court; Hurricane Ian threatens FL)

On today's 'BradCast':\xa0 Fascists are gaining power around the world -- Italy has elected its first far-right prime minister since World War II, from a far-right authoritarian party with roots in Italian World War II neo-fascism. Polls indicate that Brazil's far-right President Jair Bolsonaro is likely to lose his bid for re-election this weekend, but like former far-right U.S. President Donald Trump, Bolsonaro has already declared that any loss must only be due to massive fraud. Hurricane Fiona in Nova Scotia and Super Typhoon Noru in the Philippines set new records and caused widespread flooding and devastation. Hurricane Ian is menacing the west coast of Florida, and is forecast to make a potentially catastrophic landfall as a powerful Category 4 mid-week. Sadly, Tampa Bay's unique geography makes it a particularly vulnerable target for a flooding disaster. New poll shows that, for the first time, a majority of Americans are either 'strongly' or 'somewhat' in favor of expanding the number of justices on the U.S. Supreme Court. For many reasons discussed on today's show, expansion of the Supreme Court is, for some voters, a top reason to vote for Democrats in this November's critical midterm elections, especially after the Court's stolen-and-packed rightwing super-majority ruled to strip women of constitutionally-protected rights and other major decisions overturning long-established precedents.\xa0 Callers weigh in on all of the above, including their reasons for voting, or not voting, in the November elections.
