Gavin Newsom resoundingly defeated Republicans who forced the state's taxpayers to waste nearly $300 million to run a special recall election on Tuesday night. Early results indicate Newsom won by a landslide, with nearly the same margin by which President Biden defeated Donald Trump in 2020.\xa0 The day before, before any results were known, the GOP's top candidate, far-right radio talk show host Larry Elder, unveiled a website demanding a special session of the state legislature to investigate his baseless claims that the results were rigged. Despite his repeated lies about 'fraud' in the election and threatening use of the 'ammo-box,' Elder quickly conceded on Tuesday night.
