Today we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, even as that landmark legislation is under fire now as it has never been since it help lift the nation out of the Jim Crow era. Sam Walker of Selma's National Voting Rights Museum joins us to discuss the Act's history and legacy from the lead up to the Bloody Sunday march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge to the release of the movie 'Selma'.\xa0 Then, former DoJ attorney Katherine Culliton-Gonzales of the Advancement Project joins us to discuss the ongoing fight for voting rights across the country in the wake of SCOTUS gutting the Act's key provision in 2013.
