On today's 'BradCast':\xa0\xa0 New reporting reveals that the FBI's court-approved search of disgraced former President Donald Trump's Florida residence was a last resort, after months of negotiations and Trump's defiance of multiple Justice Department subpoenas to get him to return highly classified documents that he stole from the White House. Trump, Republicans and rightwing media outlets have spent days lying to his gullible supporters and accusing the FBI of misconduct, falsely portraying Trump as a victim, while Trump has refused to release the warrant and clear up any confusion. On Thursday, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland called Trump's bluff, and asked a federal judge to unseal the warrant. Ominously, Trump's attorneys selectively released only the part of the warrant that revealed the name of the magistrate judge who signed it, predictably resulting in death threats against the judge and his family. In Ohio, a MAGA supporter, enraged by rightwing media's false portrayal of the court-approved search, attempted to attack an FBI field office. Trump's ongoing barrage of lies and inflammatory rhetoric, amplified by rightwing media, makes it difficult to believe that political violence isn't part of his plan.
