Panic among Republicans grew on Tuesday, as GOP lawmakers scrambled to find a legislative fix for the family separation crisis created by Donald Trump at the southern border, where more than 2,300 children have now been separated from their parents since implementing his "zero tolerance" policy two months ago. The U.S. has withdrawn from the U.N. Human Rights Council just one day after its outgoing head blasted the United State's new border policy as "unconscionable" for "inflicting such abuse on children." Sophia Lin Lakin of the ACLU's Voting Rights Project discusses the latest brutal court ruling against Kansas Sec. of State Kris Kobach and his inglorious tenure as the nation's top elected GOP "voter fraud" fraudster. In a victory for the state's voters on Monday, a federal judge struck down Kobach's extreme "Proof of Citizenship" voter registration law that had kept tens of thousands of legitimate, eligible registrants in various forms of electoral limbo, despite Kobach's repeated failure to find virtually any such fraud during his eight years in office. The verdict is very good news for voters, but the judge also admonished Kobach with sanctions due to his having misled the court, and ordered Kobach to attend to attend 6 hours of law school.
