'BradCast' 5/20/2019 (Guest: Dave Daley of FairVote)

On today's 'BradCast': Ten million Americans are under flash flood and tornado watches and warnings today, after a reported 67 tornadoes hit over the weekend in five states. The UK's Guardian newspaper has updated its style-guide for accurate reporting on man-made climate change, recommending "climate change" be referred to as "climate emergency, crisis or breakdown," and switching to the term "climate science denier" rather than "climate skeptic." It will be nice when US media decides to do the same. In the wake of last year's massive GOP tax cut for corporations, Ford Motor Co. announced it plans to close plants and fire as many as 7,000 workers by the end of summer. Libertarian-leaning Tea Party Republican Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan over the weekend charged that Attorney General William Barr "deliberately misrepresented Mueller's report," and explained on Twitter why he believes "President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct." We bestow upon Amash our much-sought after, rarely granted "Intellectually Honest Conservative Award." No other Congressional GOPers have joined Amash. A federal judge ordered Trump's accounting firm to turn over Trump's financial documents. The White House has ordered former White House Counsel Don McGahn to defy a Congressional subpoena and not testify to the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday. Author DAVID DALEY of FairVote draws a direct line from the GOP's extreme partisan gerrymandering of legislative districts in GOP-controlled states to those states ramming through radical, unpopular, unconstitutional anti-abortion restrictions. Daley updates us on recent partisan gerrymandering cases in North Carolina and Maryland in the Supreme Court, and why, he argues, the fight for fair maps, fair elections and democracy itself "is not going to be saved in this country by any given election," but needs to be "engaged and fought every single day" as we are now in "a war for the future of this country"...
