An AP analysis finds a disturbingly large number of mainstream Republican candidates and elected officials have embraced the extremely racist, far-right rhetoric of the 'great replacement' conspiracy theory, adopted by the white supremacist mass murderer in Buffalo, NY, which baselessly claims that Democrats are trying to replace white voters with immigrants and non-white voters. The long list of Republicans who have adopted the racist fear-mongering trope includes U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Ohio Republican US Senate nominee JD Vance. The Oklahoma legislature passed a law banning nearly all abortions beginning at fertilization, which likely effectively outlaws common forms of contraceptives. Polls now show support for abortion rights has reached a record high. Graduates booed Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) for criticizing trans people in a college commencement address.
