Alabama's Republican Sec. of State John Merrill, who went to the US Supreme Court to block officials from offering safer voting options during the pandemic, vehemently denied allegations of an extra-marital affair this week \u2013 until reporters confronted him with salacious taped phone calls, effectively ending his aspirations for an upcoming vacant US Senate seat. The tawdry episode caps years of bizarre interactions between Merrill and this show arising from our accurate reporting.
