Encore: original air-date 4/13/2022. On today's 'BradCast':\xa0 Conventional Wisdom has it that the party in power in the White House will lose big in the next mid-term election. But Conventional Wisdom is often wrong. Roosevelt University political scientist and author DAVID FARIS explains that it is not a certainty that Democrats will take a shellacking in this November's elections. Faris details a number of specific actions that Biden and Democrats can take to help American families and aggressively take on Republicans' idiotic but effective culture war tropes.\xa0 Faris advocates democracy advocates and Democratic leaders go on offense to ensure that voters understand that Republicans are 'telling us exactly what they plan to do with their power' - - banning books, rolling back rights, and more - - and that voters know the extraordinarily high stakes in the November election as potentially the last chance to stop 'radical Republican authoritarianism.' Faris also warns that unless Democrats go on the offensive now, structural disadvantages will provide an opening for Republicans to gain a filibuster-proof majority in 2024. Also today: the Conventional Wisdom was wrong about Russia's ability to squash Ukraine, and wrong about NATO solidarity. Famously neutral Finland and Sweden announced today they are seriously considering joining the NATO alliance after witnessing Russia's aggression. Listeners react to calls to impeach Justice Clarence Thomas.
