On today's 'BradCast':\xa0 It's a dark news day, but a bright spot was the first-ever photographic evidence of a black hole, 53 million light-years away, so dense that nothing, not even light, can escape its gravitational pull. Sounds a lot like the Trump Administration. Veteran media analyst ERIC BOEHLERT discusses the latest bizarre lawsuit filed by California Rep. Devin Nunes, in his increasingly mysterious and troubling new legal gambit to challenge press freedom and seemingly the First Amendment itself. Nunes is suing Twitter, a GOP operative, and now the McClatchy Company, which publishes the Fresno Bee in Nunes district. While Nunes' suit against Twitter seemed absurd, this new suit suggests a darker and more nefarious effort to undermine Constitutionally-protected freedom of the press. Who is funding these efforts by Nunes and why? Boehlert also discusses concerns about the corporate media's ongoing failures in reporting on Trump AG William Barr's handling of the still-secret Mueller Report, and other matters as we head into the 2020 Presidential election cycle. Also today: in the race for a key seat to change the balance on Wisconsin's State Supreme Court, progressive-aligned Judge Lisa Neubaeur conceded the race to far-right Judge Brian Hagedorn, and declined to seek a recount despite a razor-thin margin on unverifiable voting machines. The loss of the seat likely ensures former Republican Gov. Scott Walker's anti-union and voter suppression laws will stand, and could handicap the state's Democrats during redistricting fights following the 2020 census. In the Midwest, another "bomb cyclone" brings more major flooding to states still reeling from billions of dollars in damage from the last "bomb cyclone" just weeks ago. Trump signed two new Executive Orders to block state authority over fossil fuel infrastructure.
