On today's 'BradCast':\xa0 Congressional Democrats could roll back dozens of toxic and corrupt Trump-era regulations and deregulatory actions, with a simple, filibuster-proof majority vote in both houses of the U.S. Congress.\xa0 But they must act quickly. MATT KENT, Regulatory Policy Associate at Public Citizen, explains the specific parameters of the Congressional Review Act (CRA), which allows last-minute federal regulations to be undone with a simple majority vote without triggering the Senate filibuster. Kent's new report identifies an enormous number of measures, enacted at the last minute by the Trump Administration at dozens of federal agencies, that Democrats could reverse immediately \u2013 covering consumer protections, immigration, banking, energy, environment, federal executions, and much, much more. Kent explains why Democrats must act fast to overturn these measures before the legislative window to do so closes and why it is important to reform the CRA. Also today:\xa0 the Republican push to roll back voter access to the ballot is gaining speed in state legislatures across the country, with more than 250 measures proposed in 40+ states. Civil rights groups filed suit against Iowa Republicans' new laws restricting early voting and more. In Georgia, Republican state lawmakers passed measures to end no-excuse absentee voting (which they themselves enacted) and restrict early voting, along with other provisions that had been credited with increasing voter turnout in the 2020 election. Donald Trump, who demonized absentee voting in 2020, just voted absentee himself. Plus Desi Doyen has our latest 'Green News Report.'
