On today's 'BradCast': The U.S. Supreme Court this week finally dismissed a bunch of silly and/or meritless MAGA challenges to the 2020 Presidential elections results in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia and Arizona. In the Pennsylvania case, Republicans argued a ridiculous interpretation of the Constitution as a pretext to nullify election results they didn't like, and three rightwing SCOTUS justices appeared to buy into the argument, which could portend profound impacts on future challenges to state election laws and voting rights. Around the country, GOP-controlled legislatures are moving swiftly to enact new voter suppression schemes after losing the White House and the Senate majority in the 2020 election - Georgia's Republican-majority Senate approved a measure to require a Photo ID to simply request an application for a mail-in ballot, just one of the several potential new voting restrictions now underway in the state's wingnut legislature. National security and accountability journalist MARCY WHEELER, of the indispensable Emptywheel blog, discusses the ongoing confirmation process for Biden's AG-designate Merrick Garland, and the unanimous SCOTUS ruling this week rejecting Donald Trump's attempts to hide his tax returns and financial documents from the Manhattan District Attorney, Cyrus Vance, Jr., in a criminal probe into tax, bank and insurance fraud by Trump and his organization.
