Big news out of Pennsylvania again today on congressional district maps for the upcoming 2018 mid-term elections: redistricting expert Brian Amos of the University of Florida, who specializes in the intersection of geography and politics joins us to discuss Pennsylvania's new court-ordered maps, and what it is likely to mean for Democrats, Republicans and the rest of the country where partisan gerrymanders remain in effect this year. In the wake of the school shooting in Florida last week, President Trump directed the Dept. of Justice to propose new regulations that could eventually ban the sale of bump stock devices used in the Las Vegas massacre. In Florida and many states, it is easier to purchase a weapon than it is to vote. The Maine Republican Party's executive director has admitted he is behind a fake news site that spread lies about a Democratic candidate who ultimately narrowly lost his election. While many are worried about Russians posing as Americans to post attacks on social media, using fake claims about 'voter fraud' taken directly from GOP outlets like Fox 'News' and Breitbart, the fact that GOP officials are creating fake news websites in support of Republican candidates should be very worrying for Dems in advance of the 2018 mid-terms.
