Today's young people have grown up in a world of mass shootings since Republicans prioritized their wealthy donors over the lives of America's kids and allowed the assault weapons ban to lapse. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), the author of the 1994 federal assault weapons ban, whose political career was formed in no small part by gun violence, announced she will not seek re-election. Former South Carolina Governor and Donald Trump's U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley announced her run for the 2024 Republican Presidential nomination, in which she'll have to contend with her history of criticizing then supporting Trump. An Arkansas county is ditching its electronic voting system and moving to hand-marked, hand-counted paper ballots. A hand count of the 2022 election in Nye County, Nevada was ultimately more accurate than computer tallies. Prior to the January 6, 2021 insurrection, Trump Campaign had commissioned a comprehensive, outside study of his 2020 election loss, but the report was never released because the researchers were unable to find evidence of fraud, exposing Trump's lies.
