27-year CIA veteran Ray McGovern, who personally delivered Presidential Daily Briefings from Presidents Kennedy to Clinton, joins us today to explain how the PDBs have changed over the years, and to offer his thoughts on Donald Trump's admission that he rarely receives them, sending his national security team to attend the briefings instead. But the conversation soon moved to the various allegations, still without evidence and said to be from unnamed intelligence sources, charging that Russia hacked DNC emails in hopes of helping Trump defeat Hillary Clinton. In short, McGovern and his fellow team of longtime intelligence analysts, experts and whistleblowers (he is founder of Veterans Intelligence Experts for Sanity), believe the allegations are, in McGovern's words, 'a crock'.\xa0 He explains why he and his colleagues feel that way on today's show, and what they actually believe is at the root of the thousands of leaked emails. Also today, speaking of 'conventional wisdom':\xa0 there is no question that the stranglehold of our public airwaves by corporate media helped elect Trump. But a new report suggests their helping hand may have been even worse than we knew, as Sinclair Broadcasting, the infamous rightwing corporation and largest owner of television stations in the nation, apparently struck a deal with the Trump campaign to provide non-critical coverage over its scores of television 'news' stations primarily in the South, Midwest.
