Washington Post creates a new category for Donald Trump's endlessly repeated, debunked lies: "Bottomless Pinocchio." Trump conducted a bizarre, on-camera pageant in the Oval Office, threatening Congressional Democratic leaders Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer that he will shut down the government unless they comply with demands to fund his border wall, despite the great cost of a shutdown to Americans. Negotiations are likely to get uglier once Democrats take over with the House majority in January. New details today on the GOP election fraud scandal in the NC-9 Congressional District race: the State Board of Elections has requested more time to conduct an investigation into allegations of absentee ballot fraud, and new evidence suggests election workers illegally tabulated early vote results and leaked the valuable information to the campaign of Republican candidate Mark Harris prior to Election Day. In Florida, election officials have revealed that nearly 7,000 vote-by-mail absentee ballots post-marked by Election Day were not counted in the midterm election. Those un-tabulated ballots might have affected a number of close races in Florida, including the races tallied in statewide "recounts" for U.S. Senate, Governor and Agricultural Commissioner.
