On today's 'BradCast': With the critical November 8 midterm elections fast-approaching, voters should be prepared for the potential for post-election challenges and even some 'manufactured chaos,' warns EDDIE PEREZ, election technology expert and board member of the nonpartisan, nonprofit Open Source Election Technology (OSET) Institute. Perez says our democracy is extremely fragile, vulnerable to what he sees as 'manufactured chaos' by Republicans both before and after the 2022 midterms. He calls the threat they pose 'a knife at democracy's throat', warning that the chaos is now 'on a collision course' with next week's elections.\xa0 Perez details the various kinds of efforts that may occur to interfere with or overwhelm normal election administration processes and spread disinformation, and actions that Americans can take - - from voters to election officials to journalists - - to prepare for and defend against post-election 'manufactured chaos.' Also today: an explosion of election lawsuits, mostly brought by Republicans, are fomenting more chaos in advance of the 2022 elections. In Pennsylvania, Republicans obtained a ruling allowing the state to reject legitimate absentee ballots over minor technical errors that are immaterial to a voter's eligibility. In Arizona, a Trump-appointed judge ordered armed 'dropbox' vigilantes to stop intimidating voters. Nevada's Secretary of State shut down a slapdash, unprofessional, botched rightwing effort to hand-count ballots in Nye County. Expect more 'manufactured chaos' between now and November 8, and beyond...
