On today's 'BradCast':\xa0 The COVID-19 crisis in the U.S. continues to spike, with new daily case numbers and hospitalizations hitting record highs. Infections are spreading among staff at the Trump White House and Republicans who attended Donald Trump's maskless super-spreader Election Night 'Victory' Party. The wife of Georgia's hapless wingnut Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger has tested positive, meaning he will be forced to quarantine just as his state kicks off an unprecedented \u2013 and potentially disastrous \u2013 full statewide hand recount of the Presidential race. Longtime Republican operative Karl Rove, in a new op-ed, warns Republicans that Trump's court challenges to stop the election results from being certified will fail and will not change the final outcome. Despite disappointing losses for Democrats in the U.S. House and Senate, there were quite a few very encouraging results for progressives in down-ballot races around the nation. DANIEL NICHANIAN,\xa0 Editor of 'The Appeal: Political Report' and a Senior Fellow at the Justice Collaborative, explains how last week's election delivered victories for advocates of criminal justice reform in local and county races for District Attorney and County Sheriff, as well as ballot initiatives expanding voting rights and addressing mass incarceration and over-policing. Voters also approved the legalization of recreational marijuana in every state where it appeared on the ballot (including in even so-called 'deep red' states), along with other very progressive drug decriminalization measures that are beginning to wind down our long, failed War on Drugs.
