On today's 'BradCast':\xa0 With less than two weeks to the critical midterm elections, corporate media is failing to inform the public about real threats to democracy. Because they have failed to accurately and straightforwardly inform the electorate that Donald Trump and his cronies tried to steal the 2020 Presidential election, a substantial chunk of the citizenry still believe false, baseless claims that 2020 election was stolen. Hundreds of Republican candidates continue to spread Trump's Big Lie, amplified and unchallenged by media. BRIAN HANSBURY, co-founder of the grassroots Media and Democracy Project, warns 'there's a journalism crisis in this country, marching us towards fascism.' His group has launched a new initiative calling on journalists and media outlets to report clearly on these blatant lies, explain the threats to democracy, protect the public against disinformation, and treat elections as more important than a horserace or sporting event. Hansbury explains how the media has not informed the public that the November 8 midterm is 'not an ordinary election', but a contest between would-be authoritarians and pro-democracy candidates who defend the rule of law and the electoral system, and what ordinary citizens can do about it. Also today:\xa0 Comedian Jon Stewart demonstrates how to push back on blatant election lies in an interview with Arizona's Republican Attorney General Mark Brnovich. In the crucial US Senate race in Pennsylvania, independent candidate Everett Stern has dropped out, endorsing Democratic nominee John Fetterman as the only choice to save democracy in a tight race against the Trump-endorsed Republican nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz.
