Florida's Amendment 1 ballot measure is purposely deceptive, according to an anti-solar lobbyist working closely with state fossil fuel utility companies who placed the measure on the Sunshine State ballot this year. According to comments caught on tape during a conference of corporate groups funded by, among others, the Koch Brothers, the operative admits that 'political jiu-jitsu' and the deceptive use of 'language promoting solar' helped qualify the Amendment for the state ballot and, even though it would actually restrict the use of solar, may very well scam Florida voters into approving the state constitutional measure this year. David Pomerantz of the Energy and Policy Institute, which initially obtained and published the audio, joins us to explain the facts behind the scam that monopoly utility opponents of rooftop solar hope to use in other states as well.
