'BradCast' 10/10/2022 (Guest: Veteran Florida Election Supervisor Ion Sancho on voting amid disaster)

On today's 'BradCast': It has been almost two weeks since Hurricane Ian left a swath of devastation across much of Florida, but with critical midterm elections now less than a month away, Gov. Ron DeSantis, the state's chief election officer, has no plan for how to carry them out.\xa0 County Supervisors of Elections in hard-hit areas are running out of time to mount a successful election after the storm destroyed polling precincts and mailboxes, but they have been stripped of key tools by DeSantis and the GOP-controlled state legislature that would have ensured voters can vote after disasters. The great ION SANCHO, the legendary (now retired) election chief of Leon County, FL, explains the very serious mess facing Florida election officials and voters, why DeSantis still hasn't issued any guidance for officials, and how the state GOP's newly-discovered hatred for absentee voting helped create many of these problems. Also today: Most Republican nominees for Congress and key statewide offices in the November election are 2020 election deniers who have said that if they win office in 2022, they will use their positions to undermine the 2024 Presidential election. But now they are dishonestly shifting their public positions, lying about their 2020 election denial and threats, to try to trick mainstream general election voters.\xa0 Russian Pres. Putin launched a massive missile attack on densely-populated civilian areas in Ukraine, retaliating after a key Crimean bridge was attacked.\xa0 Plus: We got our COVID boosters, and we recommend everyone who is eligible do the same to protect yourself and your loved ones from a likely autumn/winter surge.
