Recreational fishing globally is valued at over $180 Billion
annually, and according to Shannon Bower from Carleton University's Cook
lab, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Shannon is just about to head back
to India where she is hard at work sorting out the socio-economic
significance of their rapidly expanding recreational fishing industry. Turns
out we also have lots to learn from how they do it in India, such as
balancing catch and release with harvesting. We also Shannon's insights on
the strengths and weaknesses of marine and freshwater sanctuaries.
