"Strawberry Fields Forever" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon–McCartney. It was released on 13 February 1967 as a double A-side single with "Penny Lane". It represented a departure from the group's previous singles and a novel listening experience for the contemporary pop audience. While the song initially divided and confused music critics and the group's fans, it proved highly influential on the emerging psychedelic genre. Its accompanying promotional film is similarly recognised as a pioneering work in the medium of music video.
As an avowed fan of the Beatles, I always feel the need to sing a Fab Four song every now and then.From the middle of the song on I sang a bit more background vocals than in the original, but you have to listen and compare very carefully to notice that.

Februar 1967 als Doppel-A-Single mit "Penny Lane" veröffentlicht. Sie stellte eine Abkehr von den früheren Singles der Gruppe und eine neuartige Hörerfahrung für das zeitgenössische Pop-Publikum dar. Während das Lied anfangs die Musikkritiker und die Fans der Gruppe spaltete und verwirrte, erwies es sich als äußerst einflussreich für das aufkommende psychedelische Genre. Sein begleitender Werbefilm wird ebenfalls als Pionierarbeit im Medium Musikvideo anerkannt.
Als bekennender Beatles-Fan ist es mir immer wieder ein Bedürfnis, ab und zu einen Song der Fab Four zu singen. Ab der Mitte des Songs habe ich ein wenig mehr Background-Stimmen als im Original gesungen, aber da muss man schon genau hinhören und vergleichen, um das zu bemerken.
